Getting started at the library – website and user account
On the screen is an animated librarian standing in the training room of the library.
Hello!
In this short tutorial, I am going to show you the library website and your library account.
A screencast is shown in the background. The address of the HTWK Leipzig is typed in the browser: www.htwk-leipzig.de
Then, the page is scrolled all the way down and the menu item Bibliothek und Katalog is chosen which is positioned in the middle under the heading Zentrale Einrichtungen.
The librarian says: “You can access the library website via the HTWK website or go directly to www.bibliothek.htwk-leipzig.de.”
The librarian points to a menu on the right side of the screen: “You can find important information – like opening hours and news – on the homepage. There are also links to the catalogue, the user account, the room reservation and to all our tutorials.” Please subscribe to our newsletter to get up-to-date information.
Now the librarian points to the tabs in the upper section of the website: “You can access the other areas of the website via these tabs.”
Following this, individual tabs are clicked and the librarian explains the content:
“The tab Recherche provides links to the library catalogue and a number of research tips and guidelines.
The tab Ausleihe und Nutzung leads to information on our lending terms, on how to use different types of media, on checking out technical equipment and Vor Ort arbeiten offers information on single- and group-study rooms, on copying and printing options and much more.
The tab Kurse und Beratung leads to our training courses and tutorials.
You will find information on how to publish academic texts in the tab "Publizieren".
Via Hinweise für you can see the special services we offer to HTWK students.
Use the tab Über uns to access information on events and personal contact information.
The menu item Bibliothek von A bis Z provides a summary of important library information.
To access your user account, just click on Mein Bibliothekskonto on the library homepage.
On the homepage is a link to access your user account directly. It is called Direktlink zum Login ins Nutzerkonto in einem neuen Tab and can be found in the menu on the right.”
The librarian continues: “Choose Login als: HTWK-Mitglied and enter your university login details. Choose the data management you prefer in connection to how your data is to be dealt with. Then you are directed to your user account.”
On the screen, the option “Ich möchte beim nächsten Login erneut gefragt werden” is chosen and this is confirmed by clicking “Akzeptieren”.
The user account of Max Mustermann is shown.
The librarian explains the menu: “Here is a list of your current borrowings and you can renew the loan period for these items right here.
You can also see the status of your requests and any fees that might have accumulated.
Click on the little triangle to log off your user account.”
In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, the little triangle right of the user name is clicked. This opens a menu where the button Abmelden is positioned on the right. This is then clicked.
The librarian is back in the training room and asks: “Do you need more or more detailed information? You can find the library’s digital training courses and tutorials right here.”
Do you have questions? We look forward to helping you!
